The smaller size nitrogen ion compared with carbon results nitrides, lower surface energy strengthening effect, ability to increase both strength corrosion resistance Herein, mechanisms influence on properties steel, thermodynamics kinetics alloying nitrogen, critical concentration considered. Examples steels, including weld joints, properties, such corrosion-resistant bioactive environments, bactericidal C + N, given.
